Last night I had the enormous pleasure of doing a q and a with the awesome Nikki Gemmell at Warringah Mall Library. Nikki is such a delight! I’ve been a long time fan and have to say that her first novel Shiver was one of the books that made me want to be a writer.
Her latest release is Wing, an evocative literary thriller dripping with Nikki’s poetic, feminist voice. it’s written in second person, a really interesting narrative choice as it puts you in the head of the protagonist at the same time as observing her. Not many writers can pull this pov off for an entire novel, but Nikki is one of them.
In this week’s Currently Reading I analyse a few pages from the novel with the aim of seeing what we can learn from Nikki’s writing.

have a great day!
